Jonatan Isaksson, is a final year master’s student in evolutionary ecology at Linnaeus University. His master’s thesis investigates the genetic basis of spring and autumn leaf phenologies in the Swedish population of Quercus robur. More broadly, his interests are focused on understanding ecological drivers of differentiation in various species. Prior to his current academic pursuits, he worked for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime producing reports on the socioeconomic aspects of opium cultivation and holds a master’s degree in marine geography.  E-post: [email protected]

Oskar Olsson, is a bachelor student in biology at Linneaus University in Kalmar, where he is currently doing his thesis project. In his project he is focusing on fungal biodiversity in Quercus forests, and more specifically investigating whether a high occurrence of dead wood and old Quercus (deciduous forests in general) trees impact the species composition of fungi. He is starting to enjoy insects as well and has an overall broad interest in the nature and ecology even though he is nerdy about fungies. Axelle Cormont, is a MSc student in Evolutionary Ecology at Linnaeus University, currently conducting her thesis on arthropod communities in oak forests. She investigates the drivers of insect diversity with a focus on red listed species and conservation questions. Prior to that, she has worked on several projects around acorn size variation as part of the oak project. As a future researcher, she is interested in population dynamics and interactions between species, and loves animals with many pairs of legs E-post: [email protected]
